Trying out new things...

… can be a challenging and time-consuming pastime.

I started andARCHITECTURE after having won two competitions: urban planning-related Europan X (with Bart Wigger) and the Materia Inspiration Center competition, both in 2010. The competition system seemed to me like a carrousel machine of dreams, just waiting for your ideas to move on. Competitions were also a welcome tool to try out new things, but soon you realize that they seldom recoup the investment. They burn on desire (or need) for exposure and at times they are capitalizing on you. Choose your competition well is always good advice.
